Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate program prepares students to respond to real-life emergencies by providing basic medical care and safe patient transport as part of an EMS team. Students learn to assess medical and trauma situations, perform life-saving skills such as CPR and airway management, and use the essential equipment found on an ambulance, all while developing strong communication and teamwork skills. EMTs serve as a vital link between the scene and the healthcare system, making a direct impact when it matters most.

Courses Offered:

EMSP 1210 – EMT Theory I (3 credit hours)

EMSP 1211 – EMT Lab I (2 credit hours)

EMSP 1220 – EMT Theory II (3 credit hours)

EMSP 1221 – EMT Lab II (3 credit hours)

EMSP 1230 – EMT Clinical (1 credit hour)

Notice: The prerequisite requirements for Healthcare have been waived!!

IMPORTANT:  You must be a currently enrolled high school student in grades 10, 11, or 12 for your application to be considered, and you must apply for Dual Enrollment by completing the Wiregrass Dual Enrollment application and the GA Futures Dual Enrollment funding Application using the links provided. Please be sure to check with your school counselor for any dual enrollment requirements, sessions, and deadlines.
