CCAs: A Proven Model for Advanced Skill Development

When asked about workforce needs, too many employers say, "I just need people who show up on time for work!" That's a low bar. College and career academies in our region are graduating students with college credits, nine+ months of on-the-job experience in technical fields, AND advanced certifications like Six Sigma Yellow Belt and advanced medical certifications. And yes, these students are immersed in those durable, universal skills like job etiquette, communication, problem solving and conflict resolution. Invest now to bring this capability to our region!

Building a CCA is Good Business

Employers don't generally "speak education," but that's ok. College and career academies are more about education that speaks business. CCA Partners engage this way: Pathway Development: Industry leaders help determine regional economic demands to identify workforce priorities. Facility Planning: Pathway-relevant industry leaders help determine the facility design, equipment requirements, and instructor capabilities needed to produce the most capable CCA graduates possible. Certifications: Industry leaders help identify certifications and credentials that truly matter in the workplace, sometimes requiring the time and focus only available in the CCA environment without the time constraints of Dept of Education timelines.
